our story

From modest beginnings, in 2010 Shelley Mason established Project 82, in a pocket-sized store located in Sydney’s Surry Hills. A beautifully curated store that offered locals a boutique retail destination, where Shelley sought out unique, well-made homewares and furniture to add a sense of character and life to their homes. Nine years on and building upon the thriving business Shelley has built, we have evolved to now designing and manufacturing our own collections locally in an industrial warehouse complex in Sydney's inner-west.

At Project 82, we produce beautifully handcrafted sofas and furniture. We partner with a carefully selected group of Sydney-based manufacturers and talented, young designers to bring you new and exclusive collections. More than just a showroom, we are a creative collective who value uncomplicated design, natural materials, quality craftsmanship and luxuriate in creating pieces that are harmoniously beautiful and liveable for your space. We blend contemporary designs with old-world techniques and pride ourselves on being sticklers of tradition when it comes to artisanship. Our sofas are not mass-produced, rather, thoughtfully crafted by masterful hands in our local workshops and for this reason, not one joint or stitch is the same. This is what makes our pieces truly unique.

With over 10 standard sofas across two in-house collections, we produce sofas to suit diverging tastes and budgets, with the option to customise the size, colour and fabric. We have built our name and reputation with quality sofas and furniture, and are now expanding beyond our core collections including Staple & Co, Design Kiosk to offer a curated selection of local brands that share the same vision and aesthetics that compliment our products.
